ROLLINGSTONE

Rollingstone, Minnesota is one of the largest Luxembourger-American communities in the United States. It was established by a group of immigrants from the Grand Duchy immediately after the Land Office opened in Winona, Minnesota in March 1855. Between 1855 and 1900 over three-hundred different families from Luxembourg-registered their claims in the Rollingstone Village and surrounding farm region. 

These men, women, and children laid the social, political, religious, and cultural foundations of contemporary Rollingstone. 

Old Rollingstone still stands as a reminder of the Luxembourgers who founded their town on a plateau rising between two branches of the Rollingstone stream.

Rollingstone Jaycees

The Rollingstone Jaycees is active with numerous events for the community and provides charitable donations to various groups and causes through their gambling proceeds. The Jaycees also sponsor a T-Ball Program offered to children four to seven. They also plan for the Annual Rollingstone Days Celebration held the first weekend in August every year and includes a Cancer Run/Walk with proceeds used to support local families dealing with cancer.

Rollingstone Youth Baseball Board

The Rollingstone Youth Baseball group manages the youth baseball program for the community, supporting four teams with players ranging in age from seven to fourteen.

Rollingstone Fire & Relief Association

The Fire Relief Association gambling proceeds finance the City of Rollingstone Fire & Rescue Department's depreciation account for new equipment, vehicles, and improvements to the Fire & Rescue Hall. This financing lessens the property tax impact to the cities and townships the department serves. The Relief Association also donates money to many worthy causes in the areas they serve.

Citizen Participation

Rollingstone is proud to boast of its citizen participation from the seniors who read to the students to the students who visit the seniors. Rollingstone residents are quick to respond to assist with events and causes that benefit their community.
